wedding weekend - cajun style

Last week Matt and I went to New Orleans to celebrate our first anniversary, then drove to Lafayette, LA for my friend Ashley's wedding. It was such a good time, and it was great to see some of my college friends. The wedding was so beautiful and extravagant, and Ash looked amazing! Here are some of the highlights of the week:
Night out on Bourbon St.
Beautiful architecture
St. Louis Cathedral (where my friends Katie and Grant got engaged)
the Mississippi River
Thought this was funny; look at the sign.
Harry Connick Jr. filming a music video for LA Public TV
Anniversary dinner
Trolley ride
Fun with street performers
SJ hung out with us the last day!
Horse and carriage ride
Brangelina's house where they will get married (the grey one)
Bridesmaid's luncheon with Kelly
The bride!
Rehearsal dinner
My new dress Matt bought me in NOLA
The most exquisite bride!
The happy couple!

At the reception, they had a guy rolling cigars for guests
Samford! (plus Drew and Matt)
Standing on the dance floor - her parent's glass covered pool!
For the father daughter dance, her dad surprised everyone and flew in Bob Carlisle, the singer of Butterfly Kisses, which was their song when Ash was little. While they were dancing, guests released butterflies into the sky! It was so magical and everyone was crying. Here is the video:
The beautiful Mills "plantation" home
Such a good band!
The prettiest wedding cake
