music monday

I guess you could say I'm on a Bob Dylan kick after reading about him in my last book, A Freewheelin' Time. I know this is an old song, but I thought y'all would enjoy watching one of the greatest songwriters our world has ever seen. Mr. Tambourine Man was on his 1965 album, Bringing it All Back Home. My favorite line is below:

Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky
with one hand waving free
Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands
With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves
Let me forget about today until tomorrow.

I like these pieces from Anthropologie:

I saw this middle outfit while shopping with my mom. I wanted to buy it, but can't justify bc of the price and having no job. I got home that day, and described it to my sister Colleen and she said she just bought it. Now I can wear it for free. I love having sisters. :-)

I don't even remember how I found out about Ben Sollee or this song, but this one is on my "tight" mix. For those that don't know, my tight mix is a playlist on my iPod that has the top 50-100 songs that are my favorite to listen to at the time. I update the mix every couple months or so.

After finishing my book about Bob Dylan, A Freewheelin' Time, I started having more of an appreciation for folk music. This video is a live version of "Prettiest Tree on the Mountain" but you can buy it here.

I jut got this jacket from the J Crew outlet in July. It reminds me of the style Keri Russell wore in Felicity (Felic).

music monday

Last Friday night, Matt and some friends and I went to see one of my favorites bands play at Chastain, the Avett Brothers. Brandi Carlile opened for them, who I really like. She has such a unique voice, which sounded awesome when she covered Johnny's "Folsom County Prison." One of the singers from Indigo Girls even came to play with her on stage. My favorite song of hers is "Dreams," below.

trip!

I'm so excited today! I bought a plane ticket to see Sarah Jean and Tim down in Bradenton (really Holmes Beach) Florida. Their house is amazing...on a canal, with a pool and a hot tub, and a short walk to the beach. My friend Katie Gro is going down there with me. I'm glad I get to take advantage of my time off and spend it with old friends.
